Who we are

Berwick Surgicentre is a fully registered Day Procedure centre ands is accredited with the Australian Council on Health Care Standards. We specialize in refractive cataract surgery and our specialist staff provide expertise in comprehensive range of ophthalmic diagnosis, treatment and surgery. Dr Ed Hauptman instituted the first ophthalmic practice in Berwick in 1991 and established its first day surgery in 2000.

Berwick Surgicentre is a state of the art, compact efficient day surgery and eye centre with 9 specialists providing safe ethical care and specialising in the latest techniques of providing eye surgery and eyelid surgery. We are unique in providing operating on Saturdays .

We have a high satisfaction rate from patient questionnaires and have passed ACHS accreditation without any high priority recommendations and also passed all DHS surveys

We are strategically situated on the South East Princes Highway corridor close to Eastlink and the Monash freeway and are close to bus stops within walking distance of Berwick Railway station. We have free and substantial off street parking within 15 spaces for patients. We are located across the road from the local RSL and within a kilometre radius of 5 retirement villages in which substantial numbers of veterans reside.
